Inclement Weather
Two Days Before:
If inclement weather is predicted for the day of a guild meeting, an email will be sent out to the membership warning of the potential for a cancellation or delay. If possible, this email will be sent out on the Monday before the scheduled meeting. Please remember to check the website!
Day of Meeting:
As early as possible the president will determine if conditions may be too dangerous to hold the guild meeting as scheduled. At that time, the president can:
1. Cancel the meeting entirely.
2. Announce that the meeting will start 1 or 2 hours late.
When a decision has been made an announcement will be placed on the website, on our Facebook page and on Instagram. The president shall call the members who do not have access to email. Members should use common sense and assess the road conditions in their area before departing for the meeting.
Meeting Procedures
As you are all aware, our bylaws note that we should follow “Robert’s Rules of Order” as a guide for our business meeting. We just want to follow a few rules noted below when we meet:
Please raise your hand and wait to be called on by the President
When called on, please state your name and indicate if you have a point of information, a question or a motion.
If you want the Board to take a specific action this should be stated as a motion
For that motion to be discussed it must be seconded.
Then the President will allow for discussion and a vote will be taken at the end of the discussion. Please note discussion points should only be new ideas or thoughts, not repetitions of earlier comments.
Votes will be a show of hands and the President-elect will help with tallying votes if the outcome is not clearly evident.
